In case anyone was actually curious, the original plan:
A crack team of specialists sails the enchanted metal vessel, equipped with some special rotors that can churn through magma, through a gate in the nether and attacks the forces of grief from the flank, bombarding and sealing the portal from behind. Essentially a suicide mission with a noble goal of splintering the forces and dealing massive damage.
Said skilled individuals ended up gone when needed, or dead, or absent, or got involved in the main war.
Plan 2 was to use the ship as armored, mobile artillery, towed by the stormbringer, to rain fire down on the battlefield, followed by airdropping it onto the portal to seal it and cook off the explosives and treated hull.
Plan 3 was a water-based version of Plan 2.
PLAN ACTUAL was re-purposing the magma-capable rotors to churn through stone and detonate all the ammo in the ship to turn it into a giant enchanted bomb, BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WATER AND WE HAD TO IMPROVISERINO.
