In Mockingbay, Storm's Landing, Astrakhan, and in Veraci, posters such as these are put up.
Praise Jax! The Harvest is Here!
In celebration of Veraci's harvest, and to recognize the hard labor of the Contadini and Cittadini classes, the Vescovo-Re has decreed that there be a festival in seven days!
He asks that all farmers, hunters, fishers, and the grocers they work for come to sell their best products to their fellow citizens and foreign visitors! He has also asked that the craftsmen of the city come forward to do the same. All who participate shall be automatically entered into a contest, in which His Majesty, his Companions, and his Ministers shall vote upon who deserves to be the holder of the following new, royal titles.
1. The Royal Fishmonger
- The holder of this title should be someone who is the most knowledgeable in their understanding of the sea and its creatures, as well as how to best catch and prepare their bounties.
- The awards includes an official badge, a reward of 1500 radiants, and the responsibilities of procuring the Crown's fish, as well as being His advisor of the Fish Trade.
2. The Crown's Game Warden
- The holder of this title should be someone who understands how to best procure the bounties in the lands around Veraci. They must be knowledgeable on how to find and prepare the wild flora and fauna in the plains and forests near the city.
- The awards include an official badge, a reward of 1500 radiants, and the responsibilities of procuring the Crown's game, as well as being His advisor of the Game Trade.
3. The Palazzo Capocuoco
- The holder of this title should be someone who understands the art of cuisine, so that The Crown may best entertain Visitors during Feasts and Gatherings. They must also have some knowledge as gardeners or farmers, so that the Palace Gardens might be expanded to include herbs, vegetables, and fruits in the future.
- The awards include an official badge, a reward of 1500 radiants, the ability to petition for and pick out land for future farms (private, Royal, and public), as well as bearing the responsibilities of Palace Chef and Granary Master.
4. The Royal Guildmaster
- It is high time that the City Upon the Sea take up Her rightful place as a city of craft once more! The holder of this title will be in charge of appointing and overseeing the creation of new guilds, including that of their own. They must be adept craftsmen/craftswomen, leaders, and have some knowledge of finance and marketeering.
- Awards include a badge and the Right to establish a Guild of their own, with all their material and infrastructural expenses paid for. They will assist the Minister of Finance and His Majesty in maintaining fair trade and industry within the city. While they will can create or appoint new guilds, they will also be charged with the restoration of the old guilds of the city, if possible.
5. The Crown Physician
- Even the Crown and His Court get sick! The holder of this title must be knowledgeable in herbalism, potion-making, diseases, medicine-making, and general practitioning.
- The awards include a badge, a possible spot for a clinic (space and funds provided), books on medical care, and the responsibilities of being the Crown Physician. They will be tasked with hiring testers of the Court's food, treating any members of the Court and Crown that have become ill, and overseeing the City's health and healthcare facilities. Because of the highly intimate nature of this Occupation, winners will be thoroughly vetted and may not necessarily hold this title if their past and demeanour seems suspect.
This is a time to celebrate and marvel in the labors of your fellow Veracians! Come and buy your neighbor's wares, dance to the music, and indulge in drink and food!
Armaments are allowed, but must be sheathed and tied. Armor beyond a gambeson or aketon is prohibited, unless you are a guard.
OOC: So, this is my attempt at making peasants relevant again, as well as trying to make an actual economy, since Rogerius is supposed to be Mr. Moneybags. All characters are welcome to set up their stalls, but please let me know ahead of time so I can add you to the region. If you want to create a Veracian peasant (a member of the Contadini) or grocer/craftsman (a member of the Cittadini class), you are welcome to do so! Stores in buildings can also take part too!! Pick an Italian name and get some Renaissance-ey garb, and you're good to go! Please do not make them for the sole goal of winning the contest, as I want to make the winners of the contest a part of the Royal Court and give us impetus to do Economic RP.
Currently there are only six stalls available, though I'm sure if there is a lot of demand for them, we can slap some around where the fountain is! Plus, remember that brick-and-mortar stores can take part in the contest too! In Mockingbay, Storm's Landing, Astrakhan, and in Veraci, posters such as these are put up.
