This thread is meant as a quick overview to check before and while rping in Nid Arach.

Essential Information

Everything Action Points (AP) Related
For a more elaborate explanation refer to the Visitor's Manual.
  • You have 5 AP in total per visit. These do not stack between visits.
    • 1 Action Point
      • Actions that alter the region significantly.
      • Get something from an NPC.
      • Grab a broken loot piece (from a chest or item frame).
      • Loot a guarded loot location.
      • Specific uses of toolkits.
      • Set or dismantle a trap.
      • Remove 5 blocks of debris
        .
    • 2 Action Points
      • Flee a scene, guaranteed unharmed.
      • Loot an abandoned loot-location
      • Grab loot item (from a chest or item frame)
        .
    • 3 Action Points
      • Prevent falling down when you fail during parkour.
      • Create a shortcut somewhere
      • Overpower similar level strength NPC during combat.
      • Find an extra daily loot piece.
        .

  • Upon your arrival, you get 1 free daily loot piece.
    • The pieces are;
      • Weapon
        • Arachian Weaponry
      • Armor
        • Arachian Armor
      • Object
        • Arachian Objects
      • Kit
        • Useful kits for your visit (see kits at AP)
      • Cloth
        • Clothing that is not armor
      • Torn Page
        • A piece from a book
      • Plant
        • Arachian Plant seeds
          .
  • Repairing loot pieces into loot items
    • This is done before and after the event.
    • 3 pieces of the same kind are exchanged for a loot item from the loot table of that same kind.
    • One repaired loot item may be exchanged for 2 pieces of that same kind.

  • Loot Item: Kits
    • Four kits can be used to increase Quality of Life when visiting Nid Arach. They may be used indefinitely:
      • Agility Kit
        • While parkouring, use 1AP instead of 3 to prevent falling + move across ziplines in both directions freely.
      • Shortcut Kit
        • Create shortcuts for 1 AP instead of 3 + cross gaps of up to 10 blocks with a grappling hook freely.
      • Loot Kit
        • Use 1 AP to optionally reroll at loot-points + never get stunned by the trap.
      • Charisma Kit
        • Use 1 AP to intimidate or distract NPC opponents + natural trust from peaceful NPCs.

  • Want more loot items?
    • Use your AP at loot locations.
    • Use 3 AP for an extra daily loot piece.
    • Exchange 2 random pieces for 1 piece of your choice (no AP cost).

  • Modes of Travel
    • Ziplines
      • May be used to zip from high to low by anyone.
      • May be used to zip from low to high by those with an Agility Kit.
    • Old Mangonel
      • May be used to shoot oneself up to another platform at own risk
    • Arachian Plants
      • Make smart use of Arachian Plants to bridge gaps or cross otherwise dangerous areas.
        .
  • Locations of Interest (Denizens)
    • The Last Arachians
      • An order of peaceful Jishrimites.
      • Give cryptic hints about locations with specific special loot
      • Arachian archive can be read inside this building for backstory information.
      • Will answer questions about Arachian Lore truthfully (go here when you're ever stuck or unsure).
    • Irrelevant
      • A construct that can explain the lore behind specific objects.
    • Adventurers
      • Their campfires and tents are a sign that there is a cave or dungeon nearby.
    • Gorshank's Horn
      • Summons Gorshank; a hunter that goes after creatures in the new lands
      • Gorshank can give the locations of specific creatures and give advice on how to tackle them.

  • Flora - is sown for immediate results:
    • Gap Bridger Plant
      • Grow 10 blocks horizontally to bridge gaps.

    • Ladder Plant
      • Grow 10 blocks vertically to bridge gaps.
        .​
    • Snare plant
      • Max diameter of 10 blocks of deathly snare-trap.
        .​
    • Loot Tree
      • Depending on its location, loot pieces of a specific kind are dug up by the roots of this plant.

    • Giant Mushroom
      • Grow a 10 blocks tall mushroom with a 10 blocks diameter cap.
        .​
    • Thorny Wall
      • Grow a 10-block-long near-impenetrable hedge of thorns.
        .
  • Fauna - Gorshank may be summoned to give advice on how to hunt certain creatures.
    • Air
      • Arachian Bats
        • Massive bats that can lift a child from the ground
        • Move in groups.
        • Have a snake-like tail with which they whip and strangle their victims.
          • Yields: Batwing Hide
      • Fey
        • Enjoy shiny things
        • Can call upon other creatures for help
        • Can curse an individual
        • Can heal an individual
        • Communicates with emotions
        • Eating of wings induce vivid hallucination
          • Yields: Wings + Seed (of any kind)
      • Pincer Beetles
        • Gryphon Beetle: Can sting, causing a rash
        • Poison Beetle: Can sting, causing lightheadedness.
        • Traveler Beetle: Can bite hard enough to cut skin.
        • Lightning Beetle: Illuminates with sparks of white light, can give an electric shock.
          • Yields: The beetles themselves can be displayed or captured in jars.
      • Mutated Gryphon
        • A very rare sight.
        • Has been seen devouring Arachian Bats in the sky.
        • Boss Creature.
          • Yields: Unknown
            .
    • Water
      • Crooner
        • Humanoid, but animals all the same
        • Fiercely territorial
        • Drown their victims
          • Yields: Bones
      • Piranha and Pikes
        • Flesh-eating fish.
        • The piranha are especially aggressive in Nid Arach.
        • The massive pikes attack any small-enough creature that comes near or in the water.
          • Yields: Bones.
      • Snapjaw Turtles
        • Small turtles can bite a finger or toe straight off, larger ones an entire hand or foot.
        • Feeds off anything, even things much larger than itself.
          • Yields: Turtle Shell (decoration).
            .
    • Earth
      • Cave Wendigo
        • Barely visible in the dark, detest light.
        • Solitary creatures
        • Sharp claws and very agile
          • Yields: Hide + Claw + Eyeball
      • Krowlers
        • Ratlike creatures the size of cats
        • Carry terrible diseases and inflict poisonous wounds
        • Travel in large groups of 20-30 individuals
          • Yields: Bones
      • Maulerkin
        • Doglike creatures with a barbed tail
        • Travel in packs of 10 individuals
        • Have claws and a mean bite, basically the worse variant of krowlers
          • Yields: Hide
      • Giant Spiders
        • Spiders, but large.
        • Can spew webs, climb webs, and grapple with webs.
        • Venom makes humans sluggish, 6 bites within 24h can be lethal.
          • Yields: Spider Silk + Venom
      • Arbori
        • Don't mistake them for trees
        • Long spindly legs and arms, used to pierce their prey.
        • Ambush attacks in forests.
          • Yields: Arbori Hide + Tendon
