Signed in the presence of the Silver Council of the Kingdom of Aethel Deira,
these acts are to define the chivalric ranks within the realm and the privileges appertaining.

-=-

PREFACE
This law applies to all the realms under the Kingdom of Aethel Deira, and is to be the sole recognition of chivalric virtue insofar as the appointment of Knights within the Kingdom. This law lays out the ranks, privileges, and means of recognition for each of the ranks of chivalry.
RANKS OF CHIVALRY
| Honoured
The lowest rank of chivalry is Honoured, and any individual recognized as such has the right to have Honoured added before their name.
Upon the recognition of this rank, the person's name shall duly be recorded within the Roll of Chivalry and granted an honour of two thousand radiants.
| Champion
The next rank of chivalry is Champion, and any individual recognized as such has the right to have Champion added before their name.
Upon the recognition of this rank, the person's name shall duly be updated within the Roll of Chivalry as such, and granted an honour of three thousand radiants, as well as a silver broach of an angel's wing.
| Knight Chevalier
The middling rank of chivalry is Knight Chevalier, and any individual recognized as such has the right to have Ser (alternatively Sir) or Dame added before their name, as well as the location of their birth added afterwards, or the location of an act of exceptional virtue they have committed.
Upon the recognition of this rank, the person's name shall duly be updated within the Roll of Chivalry as such, and granted an honour of eight thousand radiants, as well as the insignia of a sword overlaid upon their angel wing broach.
| Knight Errant
A rank distinguished by exceptional chivalry and virtue is Knight Errant, and any individual recognized as such has the right to have Ser (alternatively Sir) or Dame added before their name, as well as the location of their birth added afterwards, or the location of an act of exceptional virtue they have committed.
Upon the recognition of this rank, the person's name shall duly be updated within the Roll of Chivalry as such, and granted an honour of twelve thousand radiants, a blade forged by the smiths of the Realm, as well as the insignia of their choosing overlaid upon an angel's wing broach.
| Knight Silver
The highest rank of chivalry, and a sign of extraordinary chivalry, virtue, and dignity, is Knight Silver, and any individual recognized as such has the right to have Master or Mastress added before their name, as well as the location of their birth added afterwards, or the location of an act of exceptional virtue they have committed.
Upon the recognition of this rank, the person's name shall duly be updated within the Roll of Chivalry as such, and granted an honour of twenty-five thousand radiants, a befitting suit of armour forged by smiths of the Realm, as well as the insignia of their choosing overlaid upon a pair of angel's wings broach.LeightonRoyalSealRibbon.png

RECOGNITION OF CHIVALRY
The Chivalry Office located within Cerridwen Hall in Eldpoint shall be responsible for maintaining two separate rolls: a Roll of Chivalry, and a Roll of Deeds.
| The Roll of Chivalry
The roll of Chivalry shall list every person recognized at each rank of Chivalry, their homeland, and the date of their recognition. It shall be updated at any time a new individual is recognized, or an existing member is recognized at a new rank.
The Sovereign may, at any time, order a person be removed from the Roll of Chivalry, and they shall be required to return any insignia to the Chivalry Office.
| The Roll of Deeds
The roll of Deeds shall list every recognized deed performed by any individual within the Kingdom, as recognized by any Lord of the Realm. Individuals may petition any lord to have their acts recognized, and if granted, it shall be added to the roll. Alternatively, the Chivalry Office may post bounties and any individual who successfully completes any such bounty will be automatically recorded on the roll of deeds.
| Advancing in Rank
The roll of deeds shall determine one's rank of Chivalry. Upon having two recognized deeds in the roll of deeds, any individual may go to the Chivalry Office and request that they are recognized as Honoured. Once any individual has five recognized deeds, they may request they are recognized as Champion, and at eight recognized deeds they may request they are recognized as Knight Chevalier. The office may refuse such a request if the person has committed un-chivalric deeds unbecoming someone of the rank.
To progress past this rank (progressing to Knight Errant or Knight Silver), an individual must be personally recognized by the Sovereign or their Heir(ess).
Given under my hand and seal, this fourteenth day of Springrise, 2309.
