King Corbenic

The third of his name, the Corbenic family has held it's lands since the begining of the great war. Lord Corbenic the first was a general in King Cherbert's army. After sustaining a blow that left him without his left leg in the process of defending his king he was granted lands and was granted the title of King and Protector of the North. Though the title is just that and nothing more the Corbenics do possess a degree of magical aptitude. Though they lack the extended life spans other kings enjoy (or don't) they have shaown an aptitude for charms, mind control, and weather manipulation. The corbanics have traditionally only wed other corbanics to keep their bloodline pure and this has shown in the current king's mental instability.
The Corbenic Family has instituted a very isolationist philosophy since coming to power and it wasn't until recently that anyone in the realm knew of the condition in which they live.
King Corbenic's favourite decorations tend to be made from human parts. It is said that he consorts with deamons and worse. Some even whisper that the man is trying to free Queen Grief.

Lord Vordemance started the King's secret police 10 years ago. the men known only as the ghosts have become an object of fear and oppression in the lands ruled by the Corbenics. Villagers fear their neighbors and friends. no word goes unheard by the ghosts. Any one could be a ghost and it is safest to assume that everyone is one. The ghosts have been responsible for deaths beyond counting and have stopped a number of revolts before they ever came to fruition.
Two years ago the King "promoted" Lord Vordemance to the position of Captain of the Kings Guard. Though not pleased with the change in office the scarred man goes where he is told and does what is necessary to keep "the king's peace" as long as it is profitable.
Anno the Insane

Anno the insane has crossed from genius to insane long ago. He has always worked with the mysterious material that the commoners refer to as "red stone" but in recent years he began to experiment with obsidian in an attempt to create a portal to the "hollow". Something went wrong though. The mad alchemist started taking on the properties of his new found love. Hard, cold, mysterious and devoid of soul. Even his appearance has been changing as of late.
