For more than hundred years, the 'red dwarf' Ariadne of Clearpond made herself a home in the deep woods, unknown to the other races except for the elves. She loved her home. Her tribe had allowed her to build her home inside the tree that was near the sacred tree so everyday, she was able to hum along the dance of the sacred tree. It was her job to feed all the hungry elves of her tribe which was an honorable task for an elf for the food, the tribe considered, was one of the precious gift from Shalherana.
So there she was on a typical evening, fixing some dinner when suddenly, a quesetion popped out of nowhere: What would the 'things' outside of these woods eat? It was a question with no answer for her. She had read that the 'thing'--humans--ate anything they can get their hands on, but do they really? I would love to see them eat, she thought.
A simple question lead to an expedition that, for sure, had no return journey. The moment she set her foot on the land of 'things,' her couriosity took its flight and took her to the hearts of men--the world of Altera.
