For many weeks now, attacks from the wilderness have been a regular occurrence, with any going alone into the woods deemed fated to never return from them. As people began to bundle themselves up into the safe cities, attacks became gradually less common. More so, now, for the occasional scouting party return not only unharmed, but bearing news. There is nothing left. The sight of a bear, deer, or fox seems to be such a rarity that it's considered a blessing to catch sight of one. Some remains are found, the animals succumbed to the great Blight, but it is said to near them risks catching the sickness itself. Even birds seem to have become less common, and woodlands or forests hold an uneasy silence as a result of the vast emptiness.
Since the beginning, some species were far more affected by the Blight, and as a result they have not been seen again, as if they vanished entirely...
