Soon after meeting Ergon and learning of the King, his wandering within the Crossroads Inn brought him to Lael'Braka Engem, the Warchieftan. Though they could not communicate easily, Kraug believes Lael'Braka wishes to hire him to mine for gems, underground. He has agreed to find dogs, and through dogs, the Warchieftan, once he has met the new Earthspawn King.
Kraug next payed a visit to Azerport, where he was told by Ergon his people congregated the most. He learned from Og the cowardly ways of the current Earthspawn Chieftan, Murdoc, and has already lost respect for him. However, he does respect Og's views on the situation of his people and what Murdoc is doing wrong.
Returning to the Crossroads Inn, Kraug was faced with a noisy, outspoken Elf that led him to believe she had killed several of his kind. The language barrier resulted in Kraug attacking the elf out of primal rage, and the battle was only stopped by Lael'Braka Engem, when he commanded the Elf stop challenging the Earthspawn. Kraug walked away with only a tear in the calloused flesh of his neck, on the back right side, and an ever-increasing dislike of Elves.
After learning from Og that human feces and urine are consumed normally at the Crossroads, he observed Lucius and Wulfe embracing in affection. Surprised by the movements of a brawl, Og explained that it was a strange cultural normality for humans and similar softskins to wrap their arms around one another in caring greeting. Kraug proceeded to pick up and hug Dawn Blackfire, learning her name and being puzzled by the common word 'nice.'

He hails from Zewport, originally, a descendant to Earthspawn still tainted by Grief. When Scardrac inherited the city and renamed it Hellridge, closing it to the public, he was forced to wander elsewhere. Eventually, he made it to the Crossroads Inn, where he met Ergon, another of his kind. Ergon told of a new Earthspawn King rising in the West, though unproven as a leader. Kraug does not respect this proclaimed leader in the slightest, and plans on challenging him as soon as he can.
