Dosaki, the Lost

dosaki

Loyal Servant of Altera
Name: Dosaki

Nickname/Alias: The Lost One, previously known as "Tuut"

Age: 102
(Character is unaware of his age, he'll say he's around 40.)

Gender: Male

Race: Demon/Shadow
(Character believes he's a human but since everyone was frightened of him, he started to think he was too ugly or too deformed hence why he's always covered up with clothes.)

Height: 1,88m

Weight: 70Kg

Hair: Bald.

Eyes: Glowing yellow.

Skin: Black, as if void of light.

Identifying Marks: His eyes glow yellow from underneath his hood. His skin is black, although one could think the colour is only the shade from the hood.

Appearance: Dosaki wears a dark hooded robe and dark-leather gloves to cover his unusual body. The only thing one can see when looking at him are his glowing yellow eyes.
You can sense a strange aura about him that may lead you into mistrust, something he tries hard to counter through his actions.
He seems to wander about without much purpose, avoiding towns except to buy and sell, although he will gladly help any traveller that meets him.

Strengths:
Dosaki was once very skilled with magick. He's lost such skill with his memory but he remains subconsciously attuned to his magical nature.
He's also a fast learner.

Weaknesses and fears:
He's physically weak.
He fears large crowds of people that may direct their attention towards him. He also has a seemingly irrational fear of rain.

Religion and cults:
He does not concern himself with such things. He believes the world has a natural balance maintained by the universe itself. To him the Gods are just puppets of the universe, themselves being just another victim of cause and effect.

Profession:
Hunter, travelling merchant.

Backstory:
Those caves in the Nether were no longer silent, some strange black-skinned demon community had moved there temporarily. Every once in a while, strange sounds could be hear echoing from the depths of the caves, screams could be heard sometimes as well. The others kept away, even those demons felt wrong in the Nether.
Sometime passed, it's difficult to know how much. Time seems different in the Nether. The shadow-skinned demons left the caves but the sounds did not stop.

The closest settlement of zombie-pigmen organized a small reckon party: they had to know what was causing the sounds... what had been left behind. Six pigmen were chosen. They gathered their weapons and set on their path: to the nearby caves.
The group quickly reached the entrance. The sounds suddenly stopped. They knew the group had arrived. One of the six took the initiative, he was hoping to become the next chieftain, he had to be brave. He looked inside and saw nothing: there was actually nothing: just a pitch black mist that almost seemed solid. He drew his sword and touched the mist: no resistance, nothing.
"Odd", he must have thought, if the zombie-pigmen are even capable of forming clear ideas. He turned around to the rest and grunted something to which the others grunted back. The six started to enter the pitch-black cave network.
Their vision was accustomed to the dark, but they still could not see anything. They tried to set a block of netherrack alight, sure thing, it burned but nothing was lit, except the burning block! It seemed impossible, even in the Nether. As they stared, confused at the strangeness of that fire, they did not notice they were now only five.
They kept moving after a while, the leader in the front, feeling the blocks around him trying not to lead his party the best he could. The leader felt they should be in a large empty area. He heard sounds of movement echoing through that great hall. He grunted an order to his party, but only two answered. The three zombie-pigment were surprised and confused. Soon those feelings shifted towards fear. They had never felt true fear. The passing Ghasts generally left them alone and their settlement was secluded and interaction

with other tribes was something rare. They were frozen with fear, grunting to each other, trying to understand the situation with their primitive half-decayed brain.
They heard it this time. The sound of suction, the muffled grunts of their fellow pigman and then the horrible sound of meat and bone tearing and breaking. They turned around and ran to where they entered. One looked back and saw only the glowing eyes of a beast that could not be moving faster than it should. Grave mistake, for had he not looked back, he'd have seen his leader beckoning him to the right path and he'd never tripped over a missing block on the cave floor. The leader saw him being devoured by darkness before started running again, surely the beast had been satisfied and would take a while to ingest his fellow warrior.
The leader saw the exit, he came out of the dark mist and was staggered by the blinding light, it was just enough for not one but three of those humanoid black-skinned demons to come out of the black mist. Before the pigman was devoured, he thought they looked so

small compared to the demons they had seen settling in the caves. He'd never become chieftain either... that was his last thought.

The demons never left the caves in the following years. They didn't seem to need food either, it's almost like they fed on the darkness around them for it was slowly dissipating. The occasional curious traveller would be devoured though as the demons thought they had a nice taste.
They had discovered a few strange books that were probably left behind by their parents. Their pages were black and nothing was written in them. One opened a book and looked inside while the others observed with caution. The black pages irradiated a dark mist that was quickly absorbed by the 'reader'. He blinked his yellow eyes and spoke for the first time. The others tried it too.
The three demons had long conversations between themselves, though not in the traditional sense as the sounds they uttered were strange and the shadows moved as they spoke. They spoke of the books they absorbed, the wonders they had seen in them, the magical spells they invented and practiced, their history and where were they supposed to go.
They named themselves based on the things they absorbed: the male was Tuut, the two females were Laa and Nedmeh.
Tuut was curious and almost always the first to try out new things, he decided to explore the caves further. Laa and Nedmeh soon joined him.
They probably spent years exploring those caves and had eventually grown adult. Their humanoid form was much more evident now, there were nearly no shadows around them. Laa and Nedmeh grew some sort of black tentacles from the top of their heads which they wore like hair. Tuut envied their new characteristic, he still looked the same and he hated it. He loved change, new things were always exciting.
While his two companions were resting, Tuut left to explore another area of the cave network. He thought he had seen light coming from there. He was hoping he could warm himself by the stream of lava. As he got closer, he heard odd noises, clearly different from those of the lava. Soon, Tuut found himself near a framed portal. He touched the purple substance with his right hand. It felt cool and it offered some resistance to the touch. He thought about calling his companions but his curiosity got the best of him and soon he was placing walking through the portal.

Tuut woke up with the rain of a very strange world. Rain looked unnatural and it scared him so he took shelter underneath a nearby structure, he had no name for tree. He sat there waiting for the rain to stop, thinking. Soon, Tuut realised he had no names to anything and surprisingly, not even himself. How did he get there? Actually where did he come from? He vaguely remembered a glowing light and then... nothing.
