Even though I completely understand you, I need to say that people get and will always get killed without their consent, so I think it'd be quite boring not to let people have a target against someone, just because they don't wan't to lose their character.

Where is all the excitement gone?!

Well, it is very unrealistic to have a character who has many reasons to die and many reasons to be an assassinating target but still nobody even tries that.
