♖General Information♖
The Town of Harding was settled by the Daoine citizens of old Hardanger after living as refugees in Linistel. They pride themselves on their hardy lifestyle, high moral, and ethical standards. The town was built around the Church of the Phoenix that is dedicated to Ignis Synnove, which gives it a strong religious presence in the world at large. The Town sits at the base of a mountain where Hardanger Castle stands tall as a beacon of order, protection, and power. Harding being founded in the middle of the 'broken south' brings them many threats and problems and yet the people of Harding like to view their town as a beacon for stability in the region.
*Important note for everyone*
Everything that enters the town is icly searched by the guards at the gates. As such some IC posters posted on the forum will not be posted in the town.

All Gates have a mirror that the guards would inform all entering to look into.

♖Climate♖
The climate of Harding is mild, humid and changeable with abundant rainfall and a lack of temperature extremes. Crops are abundant during the spring and summer seasons, with more cereals and root crops growing in the fall and winter seasons.
♖Government♖
The town of Harding is the capitol of the Duchy of Féarthailte na Fail that is ruled over by Duke Thure von Hardanger. The Duke claims his authority derives from Ignis Synnove and follows a feudal system of governance. Those appointed as feudal lords of the Duchy are appointed by nobility, however those who prove themselves through merit will be raised to nobility as they have earned it.
Along with the Duke's strong devotion to Synnove, he also values order very highly and thus the laws are strictly enforced, though the Duke's word is law. Those appointed to positions of authority to enforce the law are held in the eyes of the law as extensions of the Duke's person. To disobey or harm an official is regarded as to do the same to the Duke himself.
Punishments for Violating the laws can very from community service to 'spiritual cleansing'

Worship of Ignis Synnove is the official religion of the town and Duchy, however worship of any god is allowed except for Visage, Skraag, and Jishrim.
To worship these gods is seen as heresy
