Storm’s Landing Event Tiers

We want to encourage players initiating their own forms of Roleplay in Storm’s Landing so that new players and current players alike can have immediate access to roleplay when they step into our world. Especially before branching off to find interesting cultures and regions to join. With a new initiative to focus on Storm’s Landing, players may see a little more activity than usual. Please bear with us as we troubleshoot what works for a large region and our limited activity, with balanced roleplay themes, introducing npcs or region spots that player characters may take over (council, library, auction house, etc), and Landing Events. Here are some general types of roleplay we’ll be focusing on:

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Gatherings
Gatherings are easy-going get-togethers of three or more characters. They can be private or public, and many clusters can be formed within these roleplay gatherings. Groups can be formed with like-minded individuals, or even conflict with those on different thought fields.

We want to encourage a good way to involve new people entering into a radius of a gathering. Emote out loud in roleplay something that signifies that your circle is either private or public. “There’s loud hollering coming from the bar as someone bangs on the table, roaring with laughter.”, etc. Players will find it easier to approach if they have a way to smoothly react to gatherings, possibly joining, thus managing to form more pockets of gatherings that others may be able to join in and branch from.

Requests:
Gatherings can react to time, atmosphere and environments, easily enough- and don’t require an additional DM intervention unless it leads to a request for Combat to be monitored. Gatherings are best formed by jumping into hotspot locations, the Kraken’s Den being the top.

Standout Themes:
Casual
Lifestyle

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Spontaneous
These gatherings tend to be out of the whim of a Landing DM or player, and sometimes short lived. Features include -Interacting with npc citizens or wild life.
Players may use the Rumor Thread, or discord chat "lfg-roleplay' to prompt people to login during a specific time for a quick calling.

Requests
If something magical is occurring, it is not in the hands of the Sl Team, but the Event team. Please contact appropriate heads if you require a combat DM. Players are otherwise free to prompt spontaneous gatherings on their own.

Standout Themes:
Investigation
Combat

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Gathering Events
Gathering events are a more focused form of gathering that’s initiated by a specific topic or theme by a host. For example: festivals, drinking contests, brawls, sermons, pit fights, etc. Players are free to incorporate their own characters into hosting these types of events with minimal requests to the SL team.

Hosting Festivals-
To make hosting festivals easier, we’ll be introducing the rent system to the inner and outer festival grounds of Storm’s Landing. A player may rent the large festival group for up to 3 days from initial purchase of 1k, and up to 6 days max. They’re able to host any theme of festivities they’d like. Request a WE of the festival ground into creative to edit and the WE team will move it back after you’ve bought the spot to rent. Once the rent time is up, the festival ground will revert back to its normal blank slate. Players can add and remove people to their spot with /arm help - Please read the Rent Guide.

Requests:
No permission needed if players have the means to host an event
By Spawn Staff request: Lore text on items & generated items*
-If there’s a dispute over having a spot on the festive ground, contact the SL team with a Ticket to the Department.

Standout Themes:
Casual
Lifestyle
Combat
Other

Bounty Pursuits
Similar to a series of ‘Monster of the week’. Player DMs and Staff DMs will post bounty pursuits that they're willing to host. The focus of these bounty pursuits encircle the area around SL. They may extend to paths leading to/from, the Sorrows, Frontier, or the Rift and may even involve regions close by.

Requests:
Permission needed for funding bounties
By Spawn Staff request: Lore text on items & generated items*

Standout Themes:
Investigation
Combat
Exploration

---
Bounties in Storm's Landing, and hosted by Storm's Landing, will be paid for by the figure that initiated the request. Oocly, it'll be paid for by the server. The DM must send a ticket to Storm's Landing with the following request, so that we can keep a record and coordinate who distributed the money:

Form
Event link: -
DM: -
Bounty Lead: - (Leader of the party that'll receive the money. Distribution is up to them or DM)
Amount: -

Claims will be considered base-by-base and could be negotiated if too high. If there's sense of foulplay, we will amend it promptly.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Mini-Arcs
Storm’s Landing Team is looking to encourage DMs to host small series of events around the region. Mini campaign arcs are defined as: focused for a group of people (citizens of SL, guards of SL, the bounty hunters, etc) in a small series of events that tells a story. These campaign arcs are meant to be public for anyone to join, but can have limited party members. If there are player campaigns being hosted and seek regions to involve, SL Team will make effort to work with them.

Mini-Arc description: Have a beginning (build up), climax (the point), ending (resolution). These technically need to be 1+ events. One-shots can be kept to individual threads. They can be split into different arcs (arc II, as opposed to one big arc), if people want to be involved in it more. The longest one I’d recommend should be is a season’s quarter. Life can come in the way of roleplay, so small projects are easier to approve and see to fruition than bigger ones.

Example - Focused on good guys/guards, a druglord in the slums has been causing havoc and hiding under SL’s nobility/high status. Players would investigate in slums for trail of nefarious deeds, wind throw sewer mazes, interact with small creatures or minions of the druglord, and eventually find the man in question in the noble district, and so on.

However, we want to make sure Storm's Landing isn't strewn with corpses as the intention with these events is to bring people together. Conflict is welcome, but if you’d like to focus on more violent aspects in an event ask the SL department through a ticket just so we know how big of an impact it may have on the town (skirmishes of 10+ players, mass poisoning, etc..). We need to make sure the place remains neutral enough that people want to visit and stay, but still have conflict to advance storylines.

Send in a Ticket via this form to the Storm's Landing Department. If the scale for the event is larger than intended: involving unapproved beasts/artifacts, then we will involve the Lore or Events Team instead. This ticket assumes you have an Event DM or will DM this arc yourself. If you want someone to be a DM, please make an event request instead:

Form
Initial Pitch (keep it short and sweet. No long essays):
What you need from the SL Team:
Expected proposal #s of events:
Other:

Requests:
By Spawn Staff request: Lore text on items & generated items *
Approval if the mini-arc impacts the region in a larger scale

Standout Themes:
Encompasses mostly any themes of Roleplay

An Organic Storm’s Landing
By involving players in different tiers of events here with dedicated interaction, we hope to bring a more organic Storm’s Landing to light. That means if there’s a negative turn in an event or happening, the citizens or npcs would respond in some way negatively. If positive impacts occur, there would be some reward of it through roleplay. Examples being positions of higher power in-character, gaining plaques of your House or Character’s name in honor over something relevant, memoirs built. And so on. This section is a WIP and involves guards and the SL Council.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The Don’ts. SL Event’s...
-Does not respond to Divine requests. If your character wants to contact a god, want a sign, or is tampering with a shrine related to a god in Storm’s Landing: Contact Divine Team. Head to the Support Ticket section and send Events a request.
-Is not involved heavily with Lore. If you are experimenting with magic, alchemy, enchantments - anything from the official Lore threads- then please contact the Lore team.
-Tamper with individual rented houses. If your character wants to burn or break into a house- please contact the house owner in question.

Do!
- Post your events in the Storm's Landing Event Section to differentiate from regular Events in Regions. This way, there is focus on the region. Some new tags to use:

[Bounty]
[Stroms Landing Arc]
- Ask questions below or through a Support Ticket to the Storm's Landing Department

Explained:
By Spawn Staff request: Lore text on items & generated items*

-If the event is hosted by a staff player character, they will be restricted to the same rules as players and must provide items to give away or set up with lore text. These events can be private.
-If the event is hosted by an NPC Landing member via Staff or SL DM, we will make it known that it’s run by the server. These events are strictly public, even if there might be a player limit, and cannot be private. Server run events are allowed to generate creative items to provide reasonable loot (nothing outlandish). All players will have an equal opportunity for it. (prize money, items with lore on them).

tdlr; There'll be a little more focus on a variety of SL events. The above are different ways that'll happen, or ways players can chip in. That is all.

If at any point this project cannot be headed properly with attention,
we'll close it and head back to the drawing board.

Amending a request for bounties funded by Storm's Landing. Reminder- the Server money is spawn funded. Road payments, WE payments, rent payments- all pool into it.

+If you're interested in hosting spawn events with a closer contact within a team, we're a work in progress in forming one. Feel free to contact me and I'll see what our options are.
