The Earthspawn were on the list of extinction. The staff was about to let this race slip, like the Greylings.
But through the effort of one pair of players and the luck of Jax on their rolls for children, they managed to save their kind from extinction.
Imagine what it'd be like if they rolled a 1, or if they didn't put the effort in. Altera would be a different place.
So I wrote this song, about the struggle of the Earthspawn. From near extinction to repopulation, within one song.

can clearly remember the feeling of guilt as I was bred for war.
And the rains came, and the wind came, and the mob came to settle the score...

I lived in the forests, I lived with the sorrows, of knowing what my kind had done.
I wandered the fields, steered clear of the towns, my journey begun.

a chance was given, reward for still living, set right what was wrong.

When I joined the server, the Earthspawn were the traditional orcs. They had towns, they had traditions and Queen Grief was still alive to try and rally them. Yet Gromm watched their decline. At the time, nobody knew what was going to become of the earthspawn.

Coming back, seeing how the lore and community evolved-- it was extrodinary. Seeing history forgotten saddened me, but the earthspawn story continued! Hearing Kam was pregnant whilst I RP'ed Gromm was one of the happiest things he ever heard- knowing there were only two, three earthspawn left.
The tale of the few surviving endangered earthspawn is one of the absolute best stories on Hollowworld. One of my biggest regrets was not asking to play one of Kam's children, or having Gromm interact with the earthspawn more given the relation (at least in his mind) to the dying Dwarven ways to the earthspawn ways.

This is an amazing song, Bart. This is a song I will listen to in my free time =)
