Bol'tn'thar is a fortress and camp situated in the heart of the swampland. It is here that Clan Hakiaz, the last Earthspawn clan resides. Beneath the fortress are a series of caves and caverns, the true heart of Bol'tn'thar. The fortress sits above the caves on a hill, and soars into the clouds overhead. Outside the walls, one can find Camp Laz'lo, a camp designed for training those who take part into warriors. The entire settlement is land-locked, but has a river flowing along the northern wall. Several ponds and lakes sit nearby, a blessing when the hot and humid summer come around.

Travel to the fortress can be difficult, as there is only one road into and out of the area. The road is not well suited for transport and often making use of the waterways when transporting goods is the easier way to transport items. This is often how wood and other goods are transported into and out of the fortress's walls.

The fortress first got its start when a cave was discovered in the large hill. Hakiaz then took initiative to create a land where their next generation could flourish and have a homeland to inherit. The caves proved to be dangerous, as the first expedition into the caverns resulted in large, cave-wide fires. The second expedition fared little better, though it was the last time any non-Eark would set eyes on those walls. Strange happening persisted, and illusions haunted the eyes of the explorers. It seemed as though the place was haunted by some unknown force. Even to this day, the events of that day are not understood. Since then, a fortress was built upon that hill, to protect the now sacred space of the caves. Many new branches have been discovered, and there are potentially many more to be found. During the events of the Blight, Bol'tn'thar was used by the Eark to transport weapons and to scout deeper into the territory of the Blight infected areas around Compendium. It did not see much use beyond this, but the swamps and therefore Bol'tn'thar were hit very hard by the Blight fungus. Even today, several species of plant from the Blight linger in the settlement and further into the swamp itself. The Camp is the newest building in the area of Bol'tn'thar, and it remains to be seen how the inclusion of other races will be part of this settlement's history.
