"Weather and wear from the winds of the world."
PHYSIOLOGY

Build
: Slim

Height: 5’8”

Weight: 126 lbs

Hair: Short, brown, and somewhat curly. He's taken to parting it at the side, though it tends to curl and settle at its own will.

Eyes: His right eye is green and round. His left is an icy blue, Charity's own. The flesh around it carries scars from haphazard knife work.

Physical Features: A young man, his nose ever so slightly crooked. His face is slim and his features are sharper now than when he was a child. His left shoulder is scarred- a faint, icy blue handprint covers it. The faint scars of fang marks are visible around his neck, usually carefully obscured by his shirt collar, and he's gained twin burn/arrow scars on his legs. A deep and ragged scar is visible on his left forearm.

Signature Clothing: A well-kept doublet, worn over a tunic. His boots are cared for, if bloodstained, and he maintains a habit of wearing gloves despite the weather. The tunic is buttoned to hide his neck. A woolen cloak comprised of maroon patches adorns his shoulders, along with a carved pendant, worn under his tunic. His only form of armor would be leather greaves.

Weaponry: Doggett's old hunting knife is kept in a sheath at his side. "Sharp" is tucked into his left boot.

Inventory: Carries his lute in its case and a small coin purse, along with a kit of basic medical supply and a waterskin. He's also acquired surgical tools and rope from Rolland's basement.

Hygiene: He's mindful of his appearance, often carrying the scent of vanilla and cigar smoke.

Seen By Others As: Bard, Returned

"My heroic personality."
QUALITIES AND FLAWS

Personality
:
His old habits remain, though his outward temperament has gentled. He makes a point to put on the same show- a flashy one for his performing crowds and a more steadfast one for those who depend on him. He pushes his luck, still, but he's accepted that he has to hold himself in a more steady way, in order to be reliable for those around him.

+Dedicated - Dependent+
Loyal beyond loyalty, Glenn dedicates his time and craft to those close to him. He spends much of his time and energy working to ensure their continued good health in whatever ways he can, with his main function being support. On the inverse- they harm him the most, and he could not/can not function without them.

Time away has grown a more confident version of the bard. His loyalty remains- but desperation does not.

+Cheerful - Spiteful+
Glenn keeps up appearances, going out of his way to maintain a smile and joke with everyone in earshot. He prides himself in getting folks to loosen up and fancies himself quite the charmer, too. It’s rare for Glenn to hold a grudge or a sour mood for long- at least, that’s how it appears. On the occasion that he feels he can get away with it, he's known to act in spite- often without good reason.

+Driven - Doubtful+
He pursues his craft and wishes aggressively, constantly pushing the limits of what all he can learn. Glenn will stick to his disjointed moral code to his dying breath, and holds his willpower close to his heart. With a past like his, he finds it hard to believe in the things he sees or hears, though the worst of this flaw rarely rears it's ugly head. Reserved for dire moments, perhaps.

Fears:
+Spiders & Insects:
Crawling on and under skin, the taste, tiny teeth.

+Failure: It isn’t that he fears messing up- Glenn fears giving up. It’s the only way (in his eyes) that he could ever truly fail.

+Restriction: In every sense of the word, Glenn is terrified of not being able to move, see, and speak.

Intelligence: Educated
He can read, write, and count- but cannot do maths very well.
His writing is moderately acceptable, mostly showcased in his composing.

Character’s soft spot:
+People who trust him
+Those of a nervous character

Values:
+Control: Glenn thrives when he perceives having control over a situation.

+Friends & Family: Glenn couldn’t live without his crew- he dedicates everything to them, and they take care of him. It’s an even exchange, he reckons.

General Sociability:
Glenn enjoys crowds, the same as ever, and holds no struggle with speaking before large masses. Within his personal circle, he's far more open and doting- a very few get to see him at his worst, something he takes great pains to maintain. The smaller the group, the more genuinely relaxed he becomes.

Religion or Cults: N/A

Affiliations: N/A

Alignment: Chaotic Good leaning Neutral

Motivation:
+Skill-seeker: Glenn is only happy when in the pursuit of a craft, be it music, language, or anything else that strikes his fancy. If he finds himself lacking a goal or a purpose, he quickly grows frustrated and restless.

+Fame: He wants his name to be known- it’s the whole reason he’s doing this, after all. Glenn is chasing fame and fortune, mostly to prove a point to a figure in his past. It's beginning to matter less by the day. He's finding it on other paths.

+"Mine Own": It's taking a while, but he's growing to fit the role.

"I'm good at most things, see?"
SKILLS

Singing
[6/10] - No more voice cracks. He's just glad to be able to sing at all, these days.

Lute [7/10] - He's improved a good deal with brute force and time, and the strings no longer snap under his touch.
With another few nat 20's and time, he's gaining a +6 to rolls on lute playing.

Medicine [6/10] - With a good deal of experience under his belt, he's much better than nothing in a pinch. Daeron has taken him on as a student, and he's got enough stupid friends to make practice readily available.

Climbing - Athletics [7/10] - At Rolland's request, he's begun practicing in earnest. There's plenty of changes to practice, and any time he can spare is spent here.
Light and quick, that's the trick.
-Successfully evaded Gunter in the fairgrounds
-Escaped pursuit in Storm's Landing
-Assorted climbing
-Escaped Maebh and Ingrid in a chase
-Climbing the rigging in Mat's ships x3
-Rooftop climbing with Gunter

Cooking & Being Functional [5/10] - Gabby is a life-saver.

LANGUAGES:

Rede
: [6/10] - He's beginning to learn, from Matty, Isla, and Gunter. (Dec/20)
Elvish: [4/10] - Maebh and Bennett taught him some "phrases." Marian fills in the gaps. (Jan/21)
Common: [9/10] - His native tongue.

"Yeah, I'm kind of a big deal around here."
BARDIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS

"Oh! There once was a man named Doggett, forever a terrible shrew,
They called him a banker but /I/ called him a wanker, not that he ever knew!
One day when the shadows were longest, o' bravest Doggett went out;
While he might not yet be the strongest, his wit and humor were stout!
Twas' there in the palace he met his match, a foe no taller than he;
The man were a' tremblin' but to mine own awe, the fellow didn't flee!
The creature of shadow nipped at his heel, but clever, Doggett, was he-
For he took up a knife to defend his life and ne'r become its meal!
Oh! The man who's short in stature is never short in ire;
and in no time the creature was but kindling on the pyre!
Doggett, being a humble man, t'would deny it to this day-
But never let the man pretend! He did /not/ run away!"

"Maebh, the intrepid explorer,
She’s more than just a witch,
She’ll pluck the eyes of lesser men
And leave them in a ditch!

Her pupils like the palest bone,
Her wit as sharp as needles,
And if you scoff her knowing tone,
They’ll /never/ find your body!

Yes, the witch is ever sought,
For all her secret knowledge,
But beware! She’s not one to be bought,
She’s got their skulls within her cottage!

Maebh, the intrepid explorer,
Twas never one brave as she,
She’ll box your ears and scare you straight,
But adventure she’ll guarantee"

It was in dreary winter that she came, thy lady of the rain;
I would have kept her,
offered her shelter,
but she turned and went her way;
Lady of the rain, oh won’t you come again?
For my fields are parched
and my heart was scorched
ever since he took you away.
Well, she came to me in Evertree
with silver in her veins;
Her eyes told tales of southern gales
and the winds that blew her astray;
There never was a merry man that knew such hurt as she,
For of all the earthly pleasures,
there was none as missed as thee.’
I dreamed of you in autumn
and I dreamed of you in spring,
And as the first of frost unveiled
I saw you before me;
Her eyes were locked in clouds of dread
with ivory in her hair,
The silver blood of jealous men has spilled once everywhere.
Never had there ever been a man so bold as thee
To cut across the mortal share and steal her company,
You held her in your auburn lair as vengeance slowly grew,
And finally, as the summer fell,
her torment slaughtered you.

"It was late into the evening when they reached the sacred place-
the cathedral of the landing in all her beauty and her grace.
Within it played a poet, to his friends and very few;
But little did the spectators know, a looming figure grew."

"The doors flew open with a bang as thunder lit the sky,
and as the watchers turned and stared, what else should meet their eye?
An aged man in shrouded cloth, his face a grimy hue;
And a smaller figure cloaked in black who's face they'd never knew."

"Upon seeing there the poet, the smaller one approached,
and flashing him a pointed grin, a challenge he evoked.
'Sing a song to prove your worth and I shall share my name.
And if good poet, you should fail? You'll never find your fame.'"

"The poet was a stubborn man and caution never knew,
and so he played upon his lute- his fingers nearly flew.
He sang it in the hall of Gods and upon him they had smiled,
for from his bloodied lips the heartfelt melody soon spiraled."

"The minstrel there, he sang of rain, and the fellow who stole her away-
and as the ballad found its end, the watchers seemed to weigh.
But there, upon the creature's lips, a smile faintly played,
and turning to the poet, said,
"'I have found myself quite swayed.'"

"'A name you bought and a name you earn, for spinning such a yarn,'
And as you, gentle viewer, guess-
The creature's name was Karn."

There once was a knight in red and green, his eyes the hue of copper
He pledged an oath to serve his king, and sought the noble's daughter
The king there was a doubtful man and wished to prove his worth
And so he gave the man his task, though spoken with some mirth.

'Go slay a dragon in mine name and you might have your prize,'
But faltered as he saw the deep confusion in his eyes.
Much to the wonder of the court, the knight- he did not know,
And thus the king, he sighed and said, 'You face a mighty foe.
The dragons here, they hoard their gold and steal it from the nation-
They take the lives of lesser men to prove their higher station.'

The slow-witted knight considered long, his face a mask of thought,
and after a good moment said, 'Do these dragons harbor rot?
Do they sit upon their treasure, isolated and ensured?
Are their scales adorned in silver, all their comforts quite assured?'

"'Indeed!' the king exclaimed. 'At last you understand.
Now go and kill the blasted thing to meet my one demand.'
'Very well,' said the knight. 'I will kill this dreaded thing-
No longer will the people suffer under a vain and jealous king.'

The courtiers all gasped as one when the warrior drew his blade,
and on that winter night, a mighty history was made.
Now of course the merit of this tale belongs to you, the gentle viewer-
But beware the strength of tired men who seek oppressors for the skewer.

Lay with me, my lover, and I'll sing to you a song,
One that's carried by my heart and beats with hours long-
The melody, my revelry, which none can steal away;
It speaks for you the yearning of some ol' forgotten day,
I've bound for you my spirit and I've bound for you my tongue,
And in my case I've kept each solem poem, lute unstrung;
There's a darkness at the corners of my head now, oh my love,
And it's hardened up the callouses, the old marks under my gloves,
That darkness is a secret, but one that most folk knew,
You can't truly cage a songbird if the songbird never flew;

The darkness I call Theodoard, eight-eyed watcher of the night,
For at each other, long we stare, dark sockets meeting bright;
I'd battle it with valor but the creature knows their face,
It took upon their features, but it botched the detail's place;
Despite their rows of teeth my blade would still be stayed,
Cowardice, perhaps, I'd sooner let my skin be flayed;

Not every word's a eulogy, just most rhyme long' that way,
My Hearts write songs in color when the eyes show only grey;
Everyone's got blood to spill, but most keep it in their veins,
Sane folk find a one to love, and their bonds are bloody chains;
Call me a fool, my loves of mine, I'll bleed most any day,
For all you rotten, cursed souls- you keep my dark at bay.

I knew a man in blue and gold,
his skin fair and his gaze old.
He wept upon the cobbled steps,
and no other soul knew such regret.
The noose don't know the difference though,
now he's buried in the graveyard like a flake amongst the snow.

Who do you serve when the sun goes down?
Who do you serve when your friends ain't round?
When they toss you a purse and turn aside,
will you let them go like a coward to hide?

His ma was a proper workin' lass;
gave her hell, gave the cultists a pass;
The rich eat gold, chip their teeth on her bones-
all the while he toils, lickin' boots, sweepin' stones.
Nobody knows what Landing folk know,
don't look down to the graves we go.

Who did you serve when they turned aside?
Whose shoulder did you lean, gentle ears confide?
Paid ears ain't what the Gods had in mind,
but it whispers sweet what your heart can't find.

Children here see what men know in war,
ain't nothing that the doc' has a remedy for.
You can't unsee what they'll do at night;
we're taught sooner to run than put up a fight.
Don't sit on your ass and preach me your patience
Can hear a forked tongue in the lilt of your cadence.
We know it well, we hear it oft,
does the rich man's pay get your mistress off?
Nobody knows what Landing folk know,
don't look down to the graves we go.
The work is hard and the pay is slow-
Ain't nobody knows what the Landing folk know.

There's wheat in the field and clouds in the sky,
but the prettiest lass always caught my eye.
Her dress is blue, her humor dry,
and I'd sail a hundred years just to keep her by.
O' this tale is one of summer's love,
with the flowers by the creek and the birds above.
I'm not a man of great repute,
I'm empty in the head and my lips are mute.
My tunic is worn with straw in my hair;
all the better, with the crows to scare.

I suppose I am a lucky man, to call the lady mine-
she sits with me for hours just passing by the time.
Her lips are sweet as honey and her words are sweeter still;
she's never left my sorry side, and I bet she never will.

O' to be a mortal man, who wanders down the path!
O' to be the farmer, who gets to make her laugh.
I'd let the crows have all these fields for the chance to hold her hand-
I'd drop to my knees and pledge my life, o' wouldn't that be grand?

But now here comes the nightfall, and alas she leaves my side-
I'm certain she would not be gone, if she were just my bride.
There were tears upon those fairweather cheeks she'd never try to hide;
pity to the scarecrow, never have I cried.

O' to dance in fields of grain, her arm looped with mine!
O' to keep her from the rain, with her smile so divine!
I live my days in jealousy for those who she keeps near,
and my heart is broken every time I see her shed a tear.

Now here comes the farmer, and he's lifting up an axe-
I fear it with all my heart, this verse might be the last!
My lady there, she's sobbing now, and pleading with the lad;
she says that I have listened well, and now my soul is glad!

I am but a humble scarecrow, but I've served the lady well;
and my crooked smile hangs ever more as the farmer's axe soon fell.
If I were yet a mortal man, It's sure I would bleed-
but my lady collects my pieces, and that's all I'll ever need.

Sang to [2] queens, [2] princes, and [1] princess
- Kamaoe clapped, that's impressive
- Queen Silveira asked for a copy of the lyrics, which is even more impressive
- Wilhelm paid him, and that makes him the best by default
- Moz counts. Don't argue this point with him.
- Azalea counts too.

Assorted Heroics:
-Heroically saved Maple from drowning
-Heroically broke his nose
-Earned the Greyling's name

Paying It Forward:
After the figment Charity replaced Glenn's stolen eye with her own,
he's spent his days fulfilling his end of the bargain to the best of his ability-
This log also contains his medical work, to the best of my memory.
"The Path On" (#D2B157)
"Paying it Forward." (#87CAC5)
-The Greyling: The crew encounters Karn and Branko. Karn makes a bargain- he will tell the children his name if Glenn can impress him with a song. A name is earned.
- The Eye: Glenn is released by Mut after carving out his eye. He makes his way to the tavern- and it is there that Charity heals him, granting his new eye. As the crew asked how they could ever repay her, the answer is simple: "Pay it forward." This is the night where Glenn first meets Mat.
- The Unexpected Allies: Glenn and Gunter make it to Linistel. They find themselves at the palace in a strange twist of fate- and it is there that the toll of Glenn's time away finally overwhelms him. He is taken care of by Queen Sugar, and soon, Princess Azalea assists with his nightmares as well. Glenn's interest in magic is struck for the first time. It is here that he first begins to get along with Moz, assisting him in an awkward situation with a mutual friend.
- The Elven Knight: Vaeril assists the crew, paying for a home within Linistel for them to inhabit. Clifford is found and brought along with the crew. Glenn accidentally gets Taelin drunk.
- The Huntress: Marian and Glenn have a discussion: Mut is revealed to be the Scarecrow which took Glenn's eye. Glenn promises to keep Marian safe, brought closer to her by her unexpected involvement. They return to Linistel for a time to lay low.
- Bite of the Hound: Back in Storms, Glenn encounters Branko. A rude comment is made- and the night ends with Glenn wounded and cursed with terrible paranoia. He injures Bennett in his panic, and when the sun comes up, he's left with the understanding that he's caused fresh problems for his crew. Ingrid is met for the first time, under poor circumstances.
- The North: Glenn speaks to Mat, and bargains with him to let the crew stay up north for a while. He tries to give them all a time of peace- but like many things, it doesn't last.
- Bolts and Burns: Glenn, Moz, and Isla are captured by vyres. They are returned with help from Bennett, Atrus, and Mae. Glenn meets Daeron for the first time as he heals him, finding the man unnerving. Bennett and Glenn get in a fight, as Glenn had been taken once more and had not seen Bennett again since his curse. Glenn is accused of enjoying it. Terrible fear is gained, and Glenn decides that next time, he'll be sure to die and spare them the trouble.
- Mistakes Made: After a rough night, the crew retires to Isla's house and get properly drunk with Iskvandar, Doggett, and Marian. A window is broken, things are shouted- Upstairs, Isla tells Glenn she can't "bear to look at him." He leaves her his coin, and departs with a broken heart. Gunter finds him. A bond is forged.
- The Club: With newfound purpose after a rocky night, Glenn dumps his savings and earnings into buying a small house in Storms. It is used as a meeting spot for his growing family- and it houses a variety of teens. Glenn grows closer to Iskvandar. Bennett and Glenn get into another argument in the tavern. Glenn meets Cedric and gives him a place to stay.
- New Foundations: Glenn reconciles with Bennett. Gwen joins the grew, followed soon by Gabby.
- The Chandelier: Tended to Bennett after he broke his leg during a drink-filled outing. It was his first time managing something like this, and with the help of the crew, they got Bennett in a wheelbarrow and got him back to the Landing for proper medical treatment. It was at this point Glenn realized he needed to learn more.
- Death of the Mentor: Rolland's face is torn during a sparring match with Gunter. He dies in Glenn's arms, drowned in his own blood- the bard's actions were too slow, and likely made it worse; A burden he would carry for many months to pass. He would not forget the look on his face.
- An Eye for an Eye: Patched up Jurgen's eye after he was wounded killing Mut. The woman had tried to escape imprisonment, and as Jurgen was injured in the process, Glenn couldn't help but feel guilty. It was the first time he'd been able to properly handle an injury.
- Pains in the Night: Drunken after a fight with Gunter, Glenn is called to the hospital by a desperate Bennett. Asteria had returned from death and was in agony. Unable to help beyond offering painkillers, the bard was only able to watch as Cymic was forced to stitch together horrible wounds, all as Bennett shared half her pain. At this moment, he learned that he could not risk being unable to work, no matter the time or situation.
- Birds Aflame: After an attack on the tavern by undead birds, Glenn (stupidly) set his own injuries aside to ensure Fronslin did not bleed to death. He tended to Moz, Gabby, and Marian within the same night before finally falling to his own wounds. Iskvandar and Mat keep him alive, and in this moment, Glenn understands that he cannot put himself at risk, for he can't work injured.
- Hounds at the Throat: The following day, he tended to Kinsey's wounds- then another attack takes place. Maple's throat is torn open, and Glenn lies to her like it's second nature, telling her she'll be fine. Eventually, she is- but only thanks to Daeron's abilities. Glenn spends the rest of the day useless, confined to bed rest after pushing himself too hard. His desire for more power to help is redoubled.
- Red Tides: During a trip at sea, Mat's crew was attacked. Gabby was near fatally injured, and he tended to her as cannon fire rocked their ship. Ingrid was also wounded, with Glenn barely able to manage both of them at once. A cannonball narrowly misses his skull as he patches them up, the rest of the crew boarding and successfully killing their attackers. He grows frustrated with his lack of ability to help them, and constantly being stuck in the back lines.
-Baited Breath: Another attack in the tavern sees several of his friends injured- however, Glenn ends up assisting Alfonso instead, cleaning and stitching a nasty bite on his arm. As more of his friends fall victim to Storm's Sickness, Glenn cannot help but feel he's fighting a losing battle. Later in the day, he tended to Xozu and Taelin as well, his frustration growing by the moment.
-Festival of Foxes: During a festival to honor Sallana, Glenn awaits a particular soul. As the festivities wear on, he gifts Bennett a charm. Foxbells starts a fight between him and Gunter. He's genuinely hurt for the first time in a long time.
-The Storm Speaker: Glenn treats a reluctant Moz, extremely ill with Storm's Sickness. Bennett attempts to communicate with Valiant, and the crew meets Storm. A path forward is found. Glenn speaks with Kam about Formistry.
-Hunt of the Dreaded: Mat takes the crew out to hunt for pirates. Glenn takes a life, then patches the others up, after. As everyone sits with the weight of another fight, a tune is played, and a dance is had. Life goes on.
-Ghoul, Cruel: After contracting Storm's Sickness and failing to properly treat it, Glenn escapes to an abandoned house. After a personal showing of Home Alone for the friends who come to retrieve him, Moz and Ingrid talk him down. Daeron is given a secret, and Glenn is now called "son." A plan for Charity is hatched.
-The Secret: Glenn meets with Astreia and discusses a shared burden. He offers her a place to stay. Later, Bennett makes some connections, and interrogation is had. A terrible secret is revealed. Glenn stays, anyway.
- The Letters: Glenn notifies those he can think of. A conversation is had with the group. A separate conversation is held with Missus Kam- she gives him his task, to prove himself. Glenn feels small again.
- Away from the Sea: Glenn and Gunter journey to Alderwood for Daeron's sermon. There's much climbing to be had, and upon finding a house marked Schmidt it's only logical to break in. A conversation of sacrifice is held, a question is answered-- And Glenn takes the fall when Daeron catches them. A time away from the Landing. Glenn sets about becoming stronger.
- Good Intentions: Returned to the Landing, Glenn assists in removing Astreia's stitches, somewhat terrified of the similarities between them. A philosophical conversation between the crew and Daeron turns bitter. Glenn is reminded of a personal code.
- Blood that Bites: Returning to the hospital, Glenn is confronted by Bennett, missing chunks of his ear and nose and extremely angry. He doesn't ask- just patches him up. He is strong-armed into assisting with a vengeful amputation upon a man who hurt his family; poor memories return. Glenn does not go home that night.
- Return of the Bard: A time away, time to return. Glenn finds his friends in much the same state as before- he patches Bennett and Maebh up. Reunions are had, drinks, song. Not long after his return, another reunion is had; Branko seeks a song. Glenn is left a message, a scar, and a curse. He composes Cravensong.
- The Ghost in the Chasm: The crew returns north after years away, up into the Queensport Chasm. Within, they confront an undead creature, he mends the wounded. A song is hummed. Reaching home, a cascade of buttons is cut from a training dummy, a monster escapes, and Glenn shakes his own hand. Scattered clues lead the bard north once more- a puzzle solved. Satisfaction, of the best kind. A note is left.
- The Huntress, Hunted: Marian returns scarred and silent. Glenn leaps to his own conclusions. Convinced a target was drawn to her, he paints a larger one on himself. Old friends tell lies. Glenn believes until he doesn't.
- The Hull: Immortals, Constructs- Glenn borrows magic, confronts a fear, and admits to something. He mends Lura and Lana. For a moment, he's ready to do something, to spare Gunter. Someone else is better suited. He returns home with cuts on his cheeks and finds an old friend threatening a new one.

Maebh is Glenn's first real friend, and his lifeline for getting into places he shouldn't be. Her confidence in him has prompted him to reach further, and be bolder- She'll always be there, and so will he. To the end of the line.
Theme: [x]

Bennett - TheDeester - Lordling, Reforming
"I'll remind you it's worth it."
A rocky start to a sudden friendship- but Bennett has shown himself willing to put in the work to maintain him as an ally, and Glenn is nothing if not quick to forgive. He suspects that Bennett sees him as a bit of an idiot. That's okay- Bennett's the idiot who made him a lute for free. He'll try to be brave- stories remembered. Neither of them could make it without the other. He knows that now.
Theme: [x]

Izhmoz - Tideborne - Please, Ease
"Rock in a storm, ear to a drunk. Like you a good deal. All heart, all brain."
For someone who talks far too much, it was high time someone taught Glenn that actions mean more than words. No one has been a bigger player in making him rethink poor choices- Moz has consistently shown himself to be a pillar of common sense and Glenn values his opinion greatly.
Theme: [x]

Mathieu - BoredBrit - Patch, Match
"I can rely on you. You've seen me at my worst and still came back- I hope to do the same for you, someday."
Mathieu came virtually out of nowhere for Glenn, embodying most everything Glenn wanted to be. His initial jealousy turned to admiration, then to friendship- and now he'd consider Mat to be one of his most trusted friends. He's happy to be at his shoulder.
Theme: [x]

Gabby - Ruu Darling - Protect, Direct
"You're going to be safe. No two ways about it."
Gabby has quickly become Glenn's younger sibling, and he's fiercely defensive of her interests. He wants her safe, but not kept in a gilded cage- after all, he's happiest with her at his side when he's climbing the towers of the Landing.
Theme: [x]

Folk Songs
"Heroes and Villians- I have to look up when I talk to you, even if some of you are short!"

Karn - ironassassin - Green, Keen
"Strict and seeking. I heard you when I was in the fog. Clears my mind."
He sees Karn as a sort of mentor, almost. An underground watcher- not quite an angel. Not quite a devil. With more recent developments, Karn has guided Glenn toward some of his strengths. He feels some amount of guilt, knowing that one day he might have to stand in opposition to the Greyling.
Theme: [x]

Lewis Doggett - Squidziod - Banker, Wanker
"Real upstandin' of you not to kill me twice, sir. That makes us best mates, reckon."
By any means necessary- so long as they're his own. Doggett is something of a curiosity to Glenn- not quite an ideal to be reached, but not quite a cautionary tale. He puts a good deal of stock in the man's advice and enjoys their banter.

Sugar - Ruu Darling - Queen, serene
"Earned every ounce of my trust, then some. Owe you a lot."
The epitome of dignity and respect. Glenn's admiration only grew after hearing her background, and he would like to think that one day he could be of some use to her, be it through serving Lininstel, or simply bringing a smile to those in the palace.

Charity - Elz - Ice, Nice
"You gave me light back. I didn't deserve it, I wasn't honest. Now I just want to earn it."
He's unsure if he'll ever be able to repay the favor- so he'll simply pay it forward, for now.

Vaeril - Jstar - Large (heart), Charge
"You made temporary peace into a lifetime. A debt I can't repay. Doesn't mean I won't try."
He's determined to be worth the time. It's just a matter of figuring out how.

Daeron - Jstar - Wise, Surmise
"You ain't him, but I know he'd like you, too."
Daeron is by far the most stable thing in his life. A father- for the first time in a long time. He didn't realize how much he'd missed that.
Another reason to stay in one piece.

Theme: [x]

Chords
"You've been at my side- besides, you know too much."

Maple - Opal - Throat.
"Proper hero, you are! I'll write that song."
While he wishes Maple was keener to follow orders, he can't fault her for it. He respects her as an adventurer and hopes to one day see her in the field- he reckons that would really be something. He's terrified to hear her screams again.

Iskvandar - Vincentius - Renegade, Serenade
"We're square, see. Remember my name, and I'll remember yours."
Mister Isker is someone to be admired, it seems- perhaps something of a bad influence, he indulges Glenn's nonsense and hasn't ratted them to the guard yet. He's curious about the fellow, but wouldn't pry. Iskvandar is one of the steady figures in his life- it's a comfort to know the fellow will be there. And the cigars are a nice bonus.

Mourin - TidalTerror - Cheer, Dear (deer)
“Make yourself happy, first.”
Glenn is concerned for his friend- a spiral of poor choices seems to lay before them. He wishes he could or would return.

Taelin - Lillaxxx - Ghost, Boast
"We're an awful influence, but I like having you around."
Glenn does his best to keep an eye on her wellbeing, though it's often difficult.

Rolland - Sky_Crasheur - Knight, light
“Soulmate. You won't make me afraid.”
Rolland is someone to be feared and respected- but he's no father figure to Glenn, closer to an older brother or uncle. He's embarrassed at how Rolland has seen Glenn in the past; he just wants to do something to make him proud, not waste his time and attention. If he's meant to be better, he'll drag the man along with him.
Theme: [x]

Azalea Silveira - Sophe - Dreams, Seams
"Take care of Gunter for me- I'll repay you when I can."
She's too perceptive. Glenn avoids one on one conversation, head down. If he talks, he might never stop- and he's not ready for things to change. It's too big of a risk.

Marian - mageaegis - Guilt, lilt
"We're square now, see. Not that we weren't. Besides. Got something to prove, at your side and mine."
Marian is a force to be reckoned with. Glenn takes care to never press too hard with her- he'll keep a distance from the things she protects, for her sanity and the sake of his own. He appreciates having her around- something of an older sister, he'd bet.
Theme: [x]

Ingrid - Sophe - Stitches, Riches
"My second-worst first impression. Better later, though."
She's quick and clever, and a grand ally to train beside. He's keen on what madness they'll manage later down the line when they're both stronger.

Clifford - Dragondusty - Nerves, Serves
"You're a proper pal. Ace."
Glenn blinked and Cliff was suddenly a capable ignite. He remembers someone too afraid to sit in a crowded room. He's proud.

Gwen - abirosse - Sweet, Neat
"Wish I saw you more. I'm not that frightening- right?"
He worries he might have left a sour taste.

Still Tuning
"Don't know you all that well, yet."

Fronslin - Fronslin - Mage, Page
"Not sure what to think, after poor Moury."

Lana Wake - I am Wake - Kind, Mind
"You seem rather fretful- I hope you rest easier, now."

Snapped Strings
"Avoided, for one reason or another."

Branko - Kostadim - Locust, Focus
"They're all gonna know, they're all gonna see."
A thorn in your side.
Theme: [x]

Bok'ra - Retro Hagrid - Ruined.
"Exhausted."
Nails in your coffin.

Mut "Scarecrow" - Jase - Endure, impure
Even.
"Blood on my boots."

Deceased
"Remembered, sometimes fondly."

Follow the sound of shrill, off-key singing in the Landing.

I can dig it.
Doggett better watch his back, he's already in one ballad.

Also it's been an hour since I posted this and he already got in a fight over his terrible lack of talent.

Quick morning update because overnight Magic Intern gave me the cutest, greatest gift I could have asked for: Character art!

I've also finally transcribed my 1am song about Doggett and it is now in the "bardic accomplishments" folder!

"Oh! There once was a man named Doggett, forever a terrible shrew,
They called him a banker but /I/ called him a wanker, not that he ever knew!
One day when the shadows were longest, o' bravest Doggett went out;
While he might not yet be the strongest, but his wit and humor were stout!
Twas' there in the palace he met his match, a foe no taller than he;
The man were a' tremblin' but to mine own awe, the fellow didn't flee!
The creature of shadow nipped at his heel, but clever, Doggett, was he-
For he took up a knife to defend his life and ne'r become its meal!
Oh! The man who's short in stature is never short in ire;
and in no time the creature was but kindling on the pyre!
Doggett, being a humble man, t'would deny it to this day-
But never let the man pretend! He did /not/ run away!"

O' pity to your foolish ears, the bard now sings for you!"

Somehow this boy has accomplished more in three days than I have in 19 years.

"Maebh, the intrepid explorer,
She’s more than just a witch,
She’ll pluck the eyes of lesser men
And leave them in a ditch!

Her pupils like the palest bone,
Her wit as sharp as needles,
And if you scoff her knowing tone,
They’ll /never/ find your body!

Yes, the witch is ever sought,
For all her secret knowledge,
But beware! She’s not one to be bought,
She’s got their skulls within her cottage!

Maebh, the intrepid explorer,
Twas never one brave as she,
She’ll box your ears and scare you straight,
But adventure she’ll guarantee"

It was in dreary winter that she came, thy lady of the rain;
I would have kept her,
offered her shelter,
but she turned and went her way;
Lady of the rain, oh won’t you come again?
For my fields are parched
and my heart was scorched
ever since he took you away.
Well, she came to me in Evertree
with silver in her veins;
Her eyes told tales of southern gales
and the winds that blew her astray;
There never was a merry man that knew such hurt as she,
For of all the earthly pleasures,
there was none as missed as thee.’
I dreamed of you in autumn
and I dreamed of you in spring,
And as the first of frost unveiled
I saw you before me;
Her eyes were locked in clouds of dread
with ivory in her hair,
The silver blood of jealous men has spilled once everywhere.
Never had there ever been a man so bold as thee
To cut across the mortal share and steal her company,
You held her in your auburn lair as vengeance slowly grew,
And finally, as the summer fell,
her torment slaughtered you.

"And if any of the people walkin' round on down,
Near the old Cathedral of the good Queen's town
should catch a note upon the breeze

the local minstrel plays with practiced ease."

Rumors of a scraggly group of kids within the cathedral of Queensport may yet be founded. Glenn finds a new home, new friends, and far more lutes than expected.

New Song

"It was late into the evening when they reached the sacred place-
the cathedral of the landing in all her beauty and her grace.
Within it played a poet, to his friends and very few;
But little did the spectators know, a looming figure grew."

"The doors flew open with a bang as thunder lit the sky,
and as the watchers turned and stared, what else should meet their eye?
An aged man in shrouded cloth, his face a grimy hue;

OOC Stuff: If you want a relation, just lemme know and I'll get you in there! I likely spend too long on these update posts but I love them. :>
Beyond that- thank you all for the warm reception this character has been getting! It's really brought back my interest in HW and I'm looking forward to serenading more folks with nat 1s.
