This is a forum post on which people can post, if it's deemed good enough for it's own sub-section then so be it. There's no correct place for this so I guess here would be the best, move it if needed.

Ok so let's talk character gear. Every character has gear. But in RP people don't know how big you blade/shield/bow etc. is.

This'll hopefully change this and make for a better RP in general.

Below is a template for character gear. (Because HW has given me a love for these wonderful things)

If you feel I've left anything out, tell me.

Also, if you have more than one of these, let it be known and just duplicate the necessary section.

Yeah, I know about that already, I was half way done making mine and I wanted to publish it anyway. It was the one person who requested it and I said I'd do it and he did it also I think.


None-the-less both are now here so using either will benefit RP more.

Shield
Name: None.
Material: Tilia (Basswood), leather and iron.
Weight: Four kilograms.
Length: Eighty centimetres.
Width: The same, it is circular.
Thickness: Half an inch.
Colour: It has the Elumeril house emblem painted upon it, a blue rose, upon a white background.
A description: A circular shield, similar to a viking's.
Any notable things: It is rimmed in iron and has an iron boss(dome) in the centre of it. A thin sheet of leather covers the wood.

Mace
Name: None
Material: Steel and leather.
Weight: One and a half kilograms.
Length: Seventy centimetres.
Head Design: Flanged, six 'points'.
Colour: Steel
A description: A flanged mace of about two foot, it is made to smash in armor with powerful strikes.
Any notable things: Made by the blacksmith Henri.

I like the thread, however I'd recommend making a more general template for one so specialised weapins can be done as well, not just the plain old classes, such as Poleaxes or Flails

Name: Kaane Megil
Material: Steel, wood and leather for handle, and precious materials
Weight: 1.2 kg
Length: 1.3 metres
Width: widest point of blade: 4 cm
Colour: Black leather grip, with gold plated pommel and guard, an emerald in the pommel and runic symbols in the blade.
A description: Kaane Megil is a bastard sword Albareth usually carries around with him.
Any notable things: It is crafted by the Dwarves from the finest steel and used to belong to his father, Polo Hawklight. This sword was actually the one Polo used in the final battle against the Syrien, and his last blade before "death". It is very well balanced and is a masterpiece.

War Hammer
Name: None
Material: Steel, lead for the hammerhead and leather for the grip
Weight: 1.3 kg
Length: 75 cm
Colour: Black with brown handle and gold decorations
A description: A war hammer with a lead hammerhead and a steel spike on the other side.
Any notable things: None

Shield
Name: None.
Material: Steel reinforced laminated poplar shield
Weight: Four kilograms.
Length: 65 cm at its longest
Width: 55 cm at its widest
Thickness: 1.7 cm at its thickest
Colour: The shield has Inquisition's Iron Seal engraved on to it with silver, on red background.
A description: A heater shield often seen used by cavalry.
Any notable things: None

Now for armour... There are two kinds.
Albareth usually wears mail armour with a doublet (it gets hot, but he has paranoia xD) beneath his robes at almost all times.

But he can also wear full plate armour.

Material of;
Helm/Hood: Steel and leather
Chest/Tunic: Main armour made of steel, with mail armour below and a doublet.
Pants/Leggings: Again, same applies. Classical plate armour.
Boots/Shoes: Steel sabatons

Weight of;
Helm/Hood: 1.3 kg
rest of armour: 20 kg

Armour Type (e.g. Chain, Scale, Plate etc.): Plate armour. The helmet itself is a Great Helm with Inquisition's Seal cut out on one side instead of breathing holes. The cross that reinforces the helm is painted in gold.

Albareth also has a misericorde dagger under his belt and another two, more slashing, daggers hidden.

Colour: A dull grey, entirely.
A description: Long, thin, fast. Almost entirely grey in color.
Any notable things: Got its name from killing Albiorix~

Bow~

Colour: Dyed black, to fit with his current color theme.
A description: Imagine a recurve, that is 6'3 in length. And then imagine how horribly powerful and fun that would be.
Any notable things: It could prooooobably punch through platemail at 100 feet.

Material: Corroded steel, carries some of the darkness of the End with it.

A description: Giant Greatsword that Knight Artorias uses. See his profile for more info.
Any notable things: The blade is corroded, and can transfer a set of nasty diseases to a cut opponent.

Material: Steel. Ebony handle and guard, with an black, Bismuth crystal pommel.
Weight: 0.75 Kilos
Length: 30 Centimeters

Colour: Steel-Silver blade, with a dark hilt.
A description: Thick, bulky short-sword. Serrated in a square sort of fashion.
Any notable things: Rarely used for combat, seems to have been condemned to chop mushrooms and ropes for all eternity. Looks like a Bowie knife.


Dagger(s)
Name: Flick-Points
Material: Steel.
Weight: 500 Grams each (There's two of them) The chains they're attached to are about 200 grams each. These are his primary weapons.
Length: The Blades themselves are about 15 Centimeters long. The chains are 4 feet long each.
Width: Each blade is 5 centimeters wide. The chains are about 3 centimeters wide.
Thickness: about 5 millimeters thick each. The chains are about 3 millimeters thick.
Colour: Steel-Silver
A description: The Flick-Points (or Flicks) are essentially, throwing knives on chains. (There's a long description on them in another thread) They can be used as a 'Battle-Grapple' of sorts, being able pull shields out of peoples grasps, if Xei gets lucky.
Any notable things: The blades are serrated. Retracted via a spring mechanism in his bracers.

Bow
Name: Unnamed, purely on the basis that Faelin has never been able to liken it to anything she values enough to name it for.
Material: -Researching-
Weight: Draw weight of around 35lbs.
Length: Approximately 58 inches tall.
Colour: -Changed-
Description: Engraved with carvings of branches and slightly recurved, strung and backed with sinews, and equipped with sharp flint-tipped arrows fletched with pheasant feathers.
Any notable things: Being shot by it might hurt...

Dagger
Name: Thorn.
Material: Steel, with a handle of oak.
Length: Hmm... Seven inch blade?
Colour: Light coloured blade with a dark stained handle.
A description: The handle is engraved in a similar way to the limbs of her bow, and the blade is slender but sharp with a trailing point.
Any notable things: Used primarily for hunting.

I'd personally go for ebony, yew or something as flexible. While oak is certainly extremely tough, it's not flexible and splinters...
Or a compound bow, made of different materials........
