༺═──────────────────═༻
LIVING FRAGMENTS

Restoration Arc
༺═──────────────────═༻

Life, gripped by despair and grief at her surroundings, took part of Evil with her as she shattered herself across the skies. Whilst the Cathedral crumbled, lines of bright light shone across the darkness, finding themselves out into the world at large... And yet, those Blessed by the Divine, feel a sense of direction towards them, a calling.
___________

[ OOC ]

There are in total, seven Artifacts out there that must be recovered. A few at a time, they will give off a sense of direction to all those Blessed by the Divine, and I'll be doing events accordingly. This thread will be updated with the Artifacts and their general location, including when they are picked up by a party, for the location of them will still continue to be known as a general direction. Once an Artifact is discovered, I'll paste the full description in here. You may flavour the 'calling' however you like, be it a comforting sense, sounds of distant whispers, or etc, but only Blessed characters experience this. They may tell others of it of course.

Life Artifacts cannot be hidden with spells nor changed in form, including such things as the Jax spell to store items and turning to mist form. The location will always be able to be picked up on by other Blessed.

[ ARTIFACT LISTING ]

༺ I ༻
"
REGROWTH "
This Artifact is known to be on the isle of Aegis.

DESCRIPTION: A length of green ribbon that seems impossible to break despite being made of leaves woven and sewn together.
PASSIVE: This ribbon can be wrapped around an area to dull pain beneath it. It smells pleasantly of mint.
[ABILITY - Restoration ]: Once per day, this ribbon can be wrapped near the area where a limb is missing, and will restore the lost limb over the duration of 24 hours. The limb begins to grow in twists of white vine and bone, slowly restoring in an uncomfortable but not painful process. The skin will remain pale for anywhere from one week to one month, sometimes permanent, up to the player. This can also be used to restore eyes, but follows the same time and counts as one cast. The ribbon can be removed halfway through the day ready to be reused the next.
༺ II ༻
"
BEACON "
This Artifact is known to be on the isle of Aegis.

DESCRIPTION: A stave of gnarled wood etched with softly glowing lines throughout the bark, roughly six feet tall. At night, it grows small flowers to illuminate with the strength of many candles.
PASSIVE: The wearer is seen as friendly to all animal life unless they attack first.
[ABILITY - Flock ]: Once per day with the smack of the stave against the ground, this item ability allows an area of yell chat range to become more lively, with insects and animals flocking to the area and plant life growing wild. Animals are still wary of individuals and will act as wild animals do, but not attacking (unless a DM does so at their discretion).
༺ III ༻
"
WELLSPRING "
This Artifact is known to be within the swamps North-East of Compendium.

DESCRIPTION: A jug made of pure silver, etched with designs of various signs of life and rebirth.
PASSIVE: It is always full of the most delicious, refreshing spring water, as if the source of the water is within the jug itself.
[ABILITY - Blessed ]: Once per day, the water can be poured over an individual as if there is no end to the liquid content, and restore any and all wounds. This includes wounds that would require stitches, burns, broken bones, and optionally even scarring. The individual must be covered, even if they are clothed, with a constant stream of water for at least three rounds/30 seconds.
༺ IV ༻
"
WARDEN "
This Artifact is known to be on the isle of Aegis.

DESCRIPTION: A circlet of twisting vines and ivy, made of silver with a green gemstone.
PASSIVE: The mind of the wearer is protected from all mortal spells that seek to make them feel, see, or do things not of their natural inclination.
[ABILITY - Savior ]: Once per day, this item will ward an individual from a fatal wound, the holder dispersing into leaves and petals upon the wound being made and reforming 5-10b away, the wound healed over. Death will not take them even if the wound is there briefly such as a stab to the heart, but the item cannot protect against severe or extreme injury such as beheadings, at DM discretion if applicable.
༺ V ༻
"
GENESIS "
This Artifact is known to be on the isle of Aegis.

DESCRIPTION: A long cloak of green hues, seemingly made of plantlife and feathers both. It grows small white flowers in clusters and smells pleasantly of chamomile.
PASSIVE: Within a 5b radius, people are more soothed and feel comforted.
[ABILITY - Mend]: Once per day, the cloak can be shaken to disperse a sort of pollen over RP range, healing all minor wounds of allies within the radius upon the cast. Scratches and grazes will heal, and wounds that require stitching will stitch themselves with a green vine-like thread. Wounds are cleansed from infection by the pollen, but it may cause some sensitive to it to sneeze and have their eyes water. The cloak will regrow its flowers by the next day.
༺ VI ༻
"
GUARDIAN "
This Artifact's pull comes South of the Compendium and West of Eldpoint.

DESCRIPTION: Silver ring of twisting vines and ivy, with a green gemstone.
PASSIVE: The hands and arms take on a bark-like appearance and texture, and the skin becomes as strong as steel.
[ABILITY - March ]: Once per day, the wearer can touch the ground and summon up a wall of gnarled tree roots and branches before them, spanning up to five blocks in height and fifteen across. This process takes at least three rounds/30 seconds to complete with maintained contact with the ground. They will sink into the earth by the day’s end.
༺ VII ༻
"
WITHSTAND "
This Artifact is known to be on the isle of Aegis.

DESCRIPTION: A small silver jar patterned with vines and curling ivy, with a clasp to secure the lid. If shaken, it rattles.
PASSIVE: The holder of this item may find that nature around them grows a little more, and their hair even grows longer in turn, including facial hair.
[ABILITY - Grow ]: Once per day, a seed can be shaken from the jar, and upon landing on soil it takes to a period of rapid growth, forming a sort of gnarled wall of branches and vines sturdy enough to withstand even cannon fire in terms of force. It expands up to five blocks in height and fifteen across, curving slightly. Contact a DM to build this in game if required.

I had a few questions regarding the living fragments and how they work.

Blessed feel a call towards the Fragments so what happens if 2 groups go after the same fragment? Will this be a first come first serve type deal as to who messages you first to try and make an event around the fragment? If 2 groups are going for a fragment will it be set up like the child in which groups will come on a chosen date to fight for it. Or have you already set out dates and will say "On the 20th their will be an event for Regrowth Fragment. Come at this time" Im just curious as to how this'll work out.

Im also curious if one group can claim more then one fragment? Will it be possible for a group to start knocking down multiple fragments and holding onto them or will it be a 1 per group thing? I've got no issue if one group can have multiple fragments. After all if in character they start hunting down multiple fragments thats what they'll do.

If a group gets a fragment will people still feel that pull towards the fragment to possibly track it or once claimed it has silenced itself.

Final question, what happens if a mundane character wishes to take initiative and hunt down a fragment. So far it seems that only the blessed are the ones who feel a pull towards the living fragments but if you're a mundane character who has no special abilities. It sort of feels like you have no leg in this race, you have to piggy back off of a blessed to make any efforts. Is their a possibility or mechanic for those who aren't blessed to try and find these fragments?

I'll be doing events for them, some may be that you decide to go into a 'mixed' party (like the child one) and some I'll try to make for one or the other so it isn't all fighting. Groups can hold as many pieces as they like, for once they have the items they'll still need to try and keep them until a designated 'end' of the campaign if people come looking (players will always be able to know their general location). The event threads will have more information, I just haven't had the energy this weekend to do any in advance.

For mundane characters/non-blessed I can base it on rumour, and if they're curious they can investigate. I'll detail that on the event threads too.

The first Fragment has made itself known upon its retrieval, currently within the great forests. I will update this when I'm given a location.

The second Fragment has made itself known upon its retrieval, and currently seems to be moving to the eastern coast from the seas as the ships return...

Additionally, all Artifacts have now been posted as we only have two left. If whoever is carrying 'Genesis' could post to update on location, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

As the finale nears, I'd like those with the Artifacts to update me on their intentions. The finale will have all items be lured that direction (though they wont move on their own) , the 'pull' changing from item to main location, and whilst the majority are 'Restore Life' there may be other ideas and I need to know in advance to plan around. Thanks.
