The engineers in Astrakhan act quickly made begin to construct flood walls and dams. Meanwhile, the spring and early summer harvests are collected and stored away and Civic Contingency plans are quickly and carefully drafted as authorities begin to figure out if this is simply a one-off problem or something worse..

In Veraci, the canal dams and the sewers are reopened into the sea to mitigate flooding, and sea-traffic is halted. Swimming lessons are taught to all citizens.

Kublai is looking for anyone with enough knowledge on anatomy to help him find the cause of death of a certain individual. Rumor has it he'll even pay that individual for his time.

In the swamps, much like last time, the rains and flooding hit hard. The road to Bol'tn'thar becomes nearly impassable, with boats on rivers being the easier way to travel. The shores of the river near the fortress are shored up and sandbags are gathered. All shipments of newly traded items are quickly put into storage.

Frostwarts has opened its doors to the beggars and downtrodden of Halbed. They've been given bedding in the common room for the time being and are fed for as long as this blizzard takes, in the hopes no more people will be killed.

Frostwarted Headmaster Kublai gives out this information to the public:
"I cannot disclose the full scope of the cause of death, but what we do know is that it is unnatural, somehow inflicted without outside marks to show for it, and ominous. Should this happen elsewhere in our continent, that people die without a scratch on their body, contact Kublai immediately."

As time wears on, ships sent by the Earthspawn arrive, bringing with them Halfspawn from the island. They begin to roam and become more plentiful on the main continent, though some remain on the island of their creation. Many flock to Bol'tn'thar and more still to assist in the building of Zuk'Thar, though still others go to explore other cities and settlements. With the heavy rains, their progress across the lands is slow, but steady.

Establishing more of the NPC population on the mainland, next month they'll likely be able to have a generation born here for better backstory potential. If they are often seen in cities is up to the owners of said cities if they want to welcome them.

Halfspawn who find themselves in Astrakhan are quickly and warmly welcomed and often find excellent work as stonemasons, fishermen, foremen, and shock troops. One has even managed to become a fan-favorite actor in the amphitheater! They are given options for citizenship, an Asrakosian style education, and housing by order of the Basileos.

In Veraci, Halfspawn are rarer and some are met with a clear sense of fear or suspicion, but when they do appear, they work on the docks to help carry massive crates. As a result, dockwork efficiency has increased tenfold, and the Vescovo-Re has decreed that all Halfspawn in Veraci should be paid double for their hard work. This has angered many traditionalist citizens who complain that “the damned Greenies have taken over Veraci!!!”

Very few Halfspawn have reached the western steppes where the Ka’ar live, but many Erkhem- including Tylla- have publicly declared that all Halfspawn are more than welcome to live amongst their Ordond.

Queen Katherine has been indisposed for personal reasons, and the rulership of the city falls to her fiance, Asher Varyn. An announcement in tandem with this is also circulated, that citizens who feel unsafe in their homes or whose homes have experienced structural collapse are invited to shelter within the castle, until such a time as this blizzard passes.

Despite the odd weather, there are increasing sightings of supply caravans heading towards the north from Astrakhan, along with detachments of Asrakosian legionaries and some auxiliaries. These detachments rarely speak to anyone unless halted by people of import, such as officials from the Kalstaat or local nobility. They are guarded and swift-moving, but not hostile towards anyone unless attacked.

As one progresses further north, near the Emberdust Mines, the sounds of chisels, axes, saws, hammers, barked orders, cranes, and marching songs echo throughout the mountains.

From the reclusive reaches of the Bloodrose Glen close by the Compendium, a sign of activity is briefly noted once more.
A single shipment left the forests to an unclear destination, last seenb being moved to the more northern parts of the continent.

From out of the deadlands, a great multitude of Ka'ar tribespeople begin to move eastwards on the direction of Tylla and other Erkhem, as there are rumors of terrible things going on in their ancestral homelands. Many tribespeople wonder when they will be able to return, and the Shamans cry out for answers to the Ancestors of the lands in this time of dread and suffering.

With the passing of the blizzards in the North it has been reported that Motte Eiche under the hand of House Longtree has been reconstructed and rehabilitated. As well as all trade from the Eastern portions of the Kindgom have began to increase in number as the roads become safer.

After weeks of silence, the rumour begins to spread that the Queen of Shadows has retired and disappeared from her homestead in Eastwatch. Equal whispers roam that the mantle has now befallen to a warlock that roams the marshy riverbeds west of Blackrush. No announcements have been made public, but suspicion on the silence from Eastwatch might arise, and answers are likely to be found there.

Gentle whispers spread of the Duchess of Linistel being absent for unknown reasons, in her stead, one of her daughters have taken up Regent over the City for the time being.​

A merchants home in the Storms Landing has whispers of worry and startled screams, as the home became suddenly flooded in spiders running amok within. Spinning dense webs and smelling of rot, the little spiders had a real party within the home in the middle of the night, apparently.

Time passes and a new generation of half-spawn is born on the continent. While they gain some cultural aspects from a human parent, they do not discard old tradition.

OOC: You can make halfspawn with a human parent now. If you want a blurb about them for a city page, go for it. In general, their populations will not be too large, since they are restricted.

In the wake of the Sallana related gathering in Linistel, rumor spreads of a statue having shown signs of movement.
Visitors and citizens alike have noted that, for several days after, the scent of roses has overtaken the entire city, a departure from the strong lavender scents of the past.

A few days ago, from the west, some twenty riders and footmen bearing a banner of a white labyrinth on a red and black chequer could be seen. No one is brave enough to figure out their destination, but those who witness the terrible power of their pilgrimage are struck with fear and despair.
